FAQ

Q. How can I play my character here?
A. You can fill out an application form here!
Q. How many characters can I reserve at once?
A. You can have up to two reserves active at the same time.
Q. How many characters can I apply for at once?
A. You can apply for up to two characters within a one week period.
Q. What is the character limit?
A. We ask that you apply for no more than six characters. If you show that you meet AC without taking hiatuses or without meeting the bare minimum every month, we will gladly consider allowing you to app a seventh character.
Q. Do I need to fill out a form for a hiatus?
A. If you want to be exempt from hiatus, you'll need to fill out a hiatus form.
Q. I'm finished playing here. Do I need to do anything special?
A. We would all appreciate it if, when you're finished playing here, you fill out the drop form so we know the character is no longer taken.
Q. What kind of characters are accepted?
A. Any character who comes from a published canon and who has an established personality is welcome. An established personality means that you can produce at least one solid paragraph on the character's personality. We also accept OCs and AUs, the latter due to the timeline shenanigans nature of the game!
Q. Do you accept duplicates?
A. As this is a game centered around timeline shenanigans, we will accept up to two versions of the same character per canon. However, there is a catch. The second applicant must fit one of the following criteria: be from an AU, either canon or player-made; be a version of a character which appears in multiple canons, such as Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Cloud from Kingdom Hearts; or finally, have a significantly different canon point than the first applicant. By significant, the core personality of the character should be moderately different. For example: a happy-go lucky character from an early canon point vs the same character who's become bitter and jaded at a later canon point.
Q. Where do I post?
A. The community meant for audio/video posts is
Q. What do we need to do for AC?
A. A strict AC (Activity Check) has not been created yet. There will be no AC for the first month of the game. During that time, the pace of the game will be considered when creating criteria for passing AC.
Q. My character didn't end up in the House I wanted! What can I do about that?
A. The application provides a place for you to argue your case for your character to be a member of any House. However, if the details in your application contradict the House you want, or we disagree because of a contradiction in the canon, the mods may select a different house for your character. We also want the houses to be fairly balanced, so your character may be placed in a similar House.
Q. Can you explain about the time shenanigans?
A. Time doesn't flow normally here. This means that, for the time being, people will not age. However, memories will be retained of the events that happen here.
Q. And my character is here because...
A. Because someone went and did something which caused your character to cease to exist!
Q. How does my character get back home?
A. When a character drops, that means the anomaly within that character's timeline was corrected. Once they are gone from this world, they are back in their own world, living out their lives.
Q. I've dropped a character. What about reapping?
A. As long as no one else has applied for the character you dropped and been accepted, you're free to reapply for a character you played previously.
Q. There's been a previous version of the character I want to app. What can I do about that?
A. You're not required to go through the previous version's posts and CR. You can start fresh if you like, even if you were the one who played them previously!
Q. What about canon updates?
A. Canon updates will be accepted eventually, but not at the moment! Probably after January.
Q. My character is either sick, dying or dead. What can I do?
A. Time doesn't pass here, so your character will be alive and well.
Q. Can my character die?
A. Yes, and probably often if he or she is unlucky enough.

Q. How do the Houses work?
A. You can find a general overview of the Houses here! Basically, each House is a town. The House of Sun is in the middle with the other Houses situated around it in various fashions. When your character is chosen by a House, that House's symbol will appear on their body, usually their forehead or hand. As a member of that House, your character will gain perks from victories and suffer losses with the rest of the House.
Q. Perks? Victories? Defeat?
A. The Houses are not always on the friendliest terms. At times, challenges will be issued. It may be to infiltrate another House; it may be to eliminate a member of another house; it may be to sacrifice yourself for the "greater good" of the House. Complete the task and your entire House will benefit. More food, more luxury, ensured temporary safety. Fail tasks too many times and your House may end up like the House of Saturn.
Q. Can my character befriend characters from other Houses?
A. Of course! The House of Earth serves as a meeting ground. It's neutral and no one is allowed to live there. In addition to its enforced neutrality, those who do not wish to participate in the tasks may hide out here for a little while. They will still reap the rewards or share the pain of defeat, though other members of the House may not be happy with that. Complete a task here and unintended results may happen.
Q. What about travelling between Houses?
A. Characters are free to travel to and from any House they wish. They may even take up temporary residence there (up to 3 days). However, characters are not able to live in Houses other than their own without facing consequences similar to those of losing a trial.
Q. How will we know which House has won?
A. Before and after a trial, a post will be made in
Q. There is a section of the application dedicated to powers. Does my character get to keep them?
A. Your character will be unable to use their powers when they first arrive. However, prizes for winning some of the trials may be temporarily regaining their powers and/or special abilities.

After the first batch of apps have been accepted, an OOC post and a log will go up for players/characters to plot, mingle and figure out what's going on. There will be a thread in that log where characters will be able to get a bit more information. The goal is to then have those characters be able to share (or withhold if they desire) the information learned there with characters who come with the next batch of applications.
There will be other similar posts, too, so the responsibility doesn't fall so heavily on the characters' shoulders.
